FSBTV017: Becker – Part 6 of 6

January 13, 2009 4 comments

We have finally reached the final installment of my interview with Becker. In this episode, Becker tells us about the origin of his annual WPPI party, the photographers who inspire him, and he and I share a very tender and touching moment at the end. It’s sure to bring a warm fuzzy to your year and maybe even a tear to your eye. Or, maybe not. 😉 Enjoy! Thanks again to the Bui Bros. for co-producing this episode with me.

FSBTV015: Mike Colón – Part 2

January 3, 2009 5 comments

In this episode, Mike talks about how the image of the wedding photographer has changed over the years. And, as a perfect follow up to the last FSBTV episode (where Becker talks about being a mentor to Mike), it’s apropos to have this episode get Mike’s perspective on how they first met. Mike actually calls up Becker pretending to be a groom. But, at the time he really was going to be a groom.

FSBTV013: Mike Colón—Live at Brooks – Part 1

December 23, 2008 3 comments

In early October 2008, Brooks Institute hosted a very special F-Stop Beyond: In Living Color, which we produced in partnership with PhotographyMentor.com. A live webcast was held. Renown celebrity wedding and lifestyle photographer Mike Colón took almost three hours of his busy schedule to share his personal and professional take on life and the industry. In this episode, Mike shares how he gave up his pursuit of electrical engineering (after finishing four years of a 5-year program), to pursue his passion. Even if it meant shooting university graduating shots on a hot afternoon for only thirty-five bucks. Enjoy this “Inside the Actors Studio” style interview.

Episode 11 – [b]ecker Part 3

This is perhaps my favorite episode of the six. Becker shares with us his philosophy on sponsorships and what it’s like to be so loved by many and equally hated by some. This one’s a doozy! Many thanks to the Bui Bros. for co-producing these with me. Enjoy!

Episode 9 – The [b]ecker Part 1

November 25, 2008 12 comments

It’s the interview you’ve all been waiting for. Christopher Becker (bka “[b]ecker”) really like? Would you be surprised to know that Chris was really shy in high school? Or that he used his photography to get close to the cute cheerleaders? (Well, that last part is probably not a surprise. 🙂  It’s well known that [b]ecker has strong opinions, and is not shy about sharing them. Whatever your opinion of the man, I hope this FSB series on him will shed some new light.

Below is part 1. (Part 2 is is already uploaded to iTunes also). Many thanks to the Bui Bros. for helping out on this one. Enjoy!
